Alderney holiday cottages
Alderney is the third-largest of the Channel Islands and also the most northerly among them. It is roughly 3 miles long by 1.5 miles wide, and lies only 10 miles from France's Cotentin Peninsula. The island's main settlement is St Anne, which has a post office, hotels, and a good selection of shops and restaurants. One of the island's annual highlights is Alderney Week, held in early August. Although the theme changes each year, the festival includes duck races, sporting and musical events, a sandcastle competition, a street market and a torch lit procession.
