Home to a collection of pretty Georgian architecture, Gainford has a village shop, a pub and a fish and chip shop, and is only around two miles from Headlam where Headlam Hall Country Hotel & Spa lies offering a relaxing retreat. Also nearby is the Michelin starred Raby Hunt Restaurant, perfect for special occasions, whilst the towns of Darlington and Barnard Castle make excellent day trips.
