Situated on the beautiful Bere Peninsula, this waterside property is close to the Devon and Cornwall border. A truly idyllic setting in a small peaceful village, the cottage enjoys an unspoilt panoramic vista across the river in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Site of Special Scientific Interest.
Enjoy the wonderful countryside, a haven of peace and tranquillity, with splendid walks, cycle trails and watersports close by. The ancient stannary town of Tavistock is about 8 miles to the north, offering a wide range of facilities on the edge of the Dartmoor National Park. From pre-historic stone rows and hut circles to more recent remnants of mining and quarrying, Dartmoor offers a rich historical tableau. Scenic routes via the attractive south western slopes of Dartmoor, lead to Plymouth with an array of shops, pubs, restaurants, the historic Hoe, the National Marine Aquarium and Theatre Royal. Places of interest within easy reach include Morwellham Quay, famous for its industrial heritage and TV’s “Edwardian Farm”, Buckland Abbey and The Garden House. Several National Trust properties are close by.
The accommodation is arranged on three floors and offers FOUR bedrooms: situated on the second floor is a spacious master double with en-suite shower room with WC and sloping ceilings (care must be taken) and velux windows overlooking the river. Situated on the first floor, 1 double and 1 twin room overlooking the river and 1 bunk bedroom.
Bathroom: situated on the first floor with bath, separate shower cubicle and WC.
Lounge: large with feature fireplace with original bread oven and woodburner (first basket of logs included), TV, Freeview and DVD / CD. Conservatory: leading off lounge with stunning river views and dining table. Kitchen / diner: gas range cooker, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and microwave. Dining table and chairs.
Outside: enclosed garden on the waterfront with BBQ area and seating; low wall so care must be taken. Washing machine and tumble dryer located in garage.
