1 OF 6 PROPERTIES SITUATED ON THE EDGE OF EXMOOR - IDEAL FOR FAMILIES AND COUPLES.
Dating back to the 16th century and accessed via pretty country lanes, the owners' farm lies deep in the heart of the unspoilt Devon countryside on the southern edge of Exmoor National Park, and is set within 6 acres of land, bordered by a stream. Grade II listed, the properties adjoin one another and are set around a traditional cobbled courtyard, retaining many of their period features which confer unique character and elegance to each cottage.
In a stunning location, the properties offer a high standard of accommodation. Just over a mile away from the cottages, the village of North Molton sits at the `Gateway to Exmoor' and offers local amenities with traditional west country inns, shop, church and trout farm, whilst the vast expanse of Exmoor itself rewards nature lovers with sightings of red deer, native ponies and an abundance of birds. Famed for its weekly farmers' markets, the Victorian town of South Molton (a 10 minute drive) is a delight to browse around, with tearooms, antique and curio shops, as well as wealth of restaurants and pubs in which to seek out refreshment while soaking up the local atmosphere. Also within easy driving distance lie the magnificent beaches of the North Devon coastline - the paradise of surfers - whilst pretty seaside villages, such as Lynton and Lynmouth also prove popular with their unique cliff railway, harbour and pebble beaches. From the Victorian seaside town of Ilfracombe, boat trips can be made to Lundy Island, and Barnstaple (a 20 minute drive) offers weekly pannier markets, shops, theatre, cinema, leisure centre, tennis, restaurants and pubs. For good days out, the National Trust properties Arlington Court, Knightshayes, Watersmeet and Dunster Castle are all worth visiting, whilst other places of interest include RHS Rosemoor Gardens, and Marwood Gardens, whilst younger family members will delight in the nearby local attractions such as The Big Sheep, Combe Martin Dinosaur and Wildlife Park, Exmoor Zoo and The Milky Way, all of which offer complete days out. Locally, activities to enjoy include fishing, golf, cycling, shooting, country sports and pony trekking, with sailing and wind surfing at nearby Wimbleball Lake.
