Tastefully refurbished, this south facing detached house is virtually on the banks of the River Torridge with lovely riverside walks on the famous Tarka Trail. Equipped and finished to a very high standard, this superb spacious property is situated in one of Devon's most prestige locations and benefits from stunning river views.
Within a short drive is a wealth of popular safe sandy beaches and attractions to suit all ages. Take a 15 minute riverside walk to the market town of Bideford, where there is much to see and do with a choice of shops, pubs as well as a pannier and open-air markets. North Devon's coastline is never far away and Westward Ho! beach is a 5 minute drive offering 2 miles of golden sands popular with bathers and surfers. Horseriding, tennis and golf are also available and the National Trust coast path offers breathtaking cliff-top views. Cyclists and ramblers will love the famous disused railway line called The Tarka Trail, offering stunning views and wildlife spotting. Away from the coast is the rugged beauty of Dartmoor and Exmoor National Parks. Keen golfers can enjoy the nearby championship golf courses at Westward Ho! and Saunton and surfers will love the waves at nearby Westward Ho! as well as Saunton, Croyde and Woolacombe. Nearby family attractions include The Milky Way, The Big Sheep, Superbowl and leisure centre for the children and Tapeley Park, Dartington Crystal, Arlington Court and RHS Rosemoor for the adults. Why not take a day boat trip to Lundy Island or explore the pretty harbour at Clovelly, the sand dunes at Instow or the pretty quayside at Appledore. Lounge: downstairs and reached from the impressive hallway, seating 8 with leather sofas, 42" TV and french doors leading to the patio area. Further large sitting room with adjoining conservatory, overlooking the river and fenced carp pond. Leather sofas seating 12 and 47" TV / DVD with Sky package and Wii games console, ideal for children. Dining room: with seating for 12, again with river views. Kitchen: well-equipped with 3 ovens, American style fridge / freezer, dishwasher, microwave and casual seating for 4. Utility room: with washing machine and tumble dryer.
Outside: fully enclosed garden comprises of a lawn, patio and raised decked area with covered gazebo, hot tub available from January 2014 and BBQ facilities, all overlooking the river, where you can relax and watch the sunset and boats come and go, ideal for breakfast and evening drinks. Carport ideal for storing bikes, surfboards and drying wetsuits or walking boots.
