Bobbin Mill Cottage cottage The Lake District and Cumbria
Bobbin Mill Cottage is a converted mill cottage amongst a number of similar properties on the river Gilpin near Crosthwaite. The cottage sleeps four people and has two bedrooms, one double and one twin, and a family bathroom. The ground floor accommodation is set out in an open plan design, comprising of a comfortable sitting room, a large well-equipped kitchen and a dining area. Outside, the cottage benefits from the shared use of a massive area of landscaped gardens, with a small bridge over the immediately adjacent river and off road parking. Located in peaceful countryside down a quiet country lane, Bobbin Mill Cottage has peace and tranquillity in abundance but is within walking distance of the village and a short drive from Windermere, making it a wonderful base for a small family or two couples looking for a restful break in the Lake District.
Crosthwaite is a small village set in the beautiful Lyth Valley, famous for its damson trees, and boasts a lovely pub known nationally for its excellent food. Windermere and Bowness are nearby Lakeland towns with plenty of activities, interest and entertainment for all ages. Also within easy reach is the popular market town of Kendal, an historic Lakeland town with a fine reputation for shopping. Kendal nestles on the banks of the River Kent. Its old cobbled lanes and byways branch off the attractive main street, and the stone ruins of 12th century Kendal Castle sit perched on a hill with views over the town.
