This delightful cottage dates back over two centuries and has been restored to a good standard retaining many of the original features.
Bucks Mills dates back, as a small fishing village, to the Spanish Armada when folklore has it that the village became populated by the survivors from one of the Spanish galleons shipwrecked off the coast there. The village is approached by driving down a steep road that winds its way down the wooded valley from Bucks Cross. The village lies on a section of the South West Coast Path so is an ideal spot for walkers. Spectacular views out across Bideford Bay and on a clear day South Wales can be seen. The beach offers plenty of opportunities for prawning, fishing and rock pooling. If you can tear yourself away from this idyllic spot there is much to see and do nearby; there are also long, sandy surfing beaches at Westward Ho! and Bude. Family theme parks to suit all tastes including The Big Sheep, The Milky Way and Clovelly, with its steep cobbled streets. In the evenings relax in the walled garden that can become a real sun trap or enjoy a meal at one of the many local pubs within a 10 minute drive.
The accommodation offers THREE bedrooms: 1 super-king double zip-and-link which can be made into a twin on request. 1 twin room and a small L-shape bunk room which is accessed through the bathroom. Storage heaters in each bedroom.
Bathroom: with electric shower over bath and WC. (The staircase is relatively steep and therefore care is required.) Lounge / diner: with feature stone fireplace and woodburner (logs included) and TV / DVD. Dining area with hi-fi. Kitchen: is galley style with electric cooker, fridge, freezer and microwave. Utility: shed outside houses the washing machine and tumble dryer.
Outside: enclosed walled patio area with garden furniture. Separate outside WC.
