Castle Mill cottage Yorkshire Dales
Castle Mill is a luxurious holiday home in lovely countryside on the outskirts of Ravensworth village. The cottage has six bedrooms spread over three floors, including one with en-suite and one with access to the rear deck, with a variety of double and twin rooms. There is a bathroom with an extra shower room on the second floor and a cloakroom downstairs. The kitchen is very well equipped, with a breakfast bar and dining area, while there are two sitting rooms, one with a woodburner and one with a multi-fuel stove. Outside is ample off road parking, and a terraced lawned garden with deck, patio and furniture. Castle Mill is a wonderful luxury base for friends or family to get together and enjoy this beautiful part of the Dales, with market towns, pretty villages and stunning scenery at every turn.
The pretty little village of Ravensworth lies just to the north of Richmond in a minor tributary of the River Swale. Made up of weathered sandstone cottages with their unusual `Yorkshire` roofs - a mix of soft red pantiles and slate - the village is centred around a wide, picturesque village green. At one end of the green the popular Bay Horse Inn serves good food and drink. Pretty footpaths run from Ravensworth through the surrounding villages allowing visitors to enjoy many circular walks. Close by are the popular Swaledale market town of Richmond and the Teesdale market town of Barnard Castle both of which offer a wide range of amenities and shops.
