Lose yourselves for a couple of hours in the famous Barter Books set in the former train station wander the cobbled streets to discover independent shops and great places to eat and drink see a play take a picnic for a day on nearby Alnmouths unspoilt beach play golf or head a little further to enjoy country and coastal villages like Rothbury and Bamburgh. From the private parking area a few steps lead along the gravel walkway to the main entrance. Head up three wide steps directly into the light and airy kitchen/diner with smart work surfaces and everything you need to prepare your meals and dine including an electric oven and hob microwave fridge and freezer and dining table. The spacious lounge has large sliding doors flooding light into the room and comfortable seating where you can relax in front of the cosy gas-fired wood burner to watch a little TV read your book or sit with a drink and enjoy the view onto the patio area and garden. An open-tread spiral staircase takes you from the lounge down to the bedrooms and shower room on the lower floor. You can also access the lower floor to bring in your things from the car from another external door to the rear of the cottage with stone steps leading to this door. The master bedroom has a king-size bed with open hanging storage and a chest of drawers. The cosy second bedroom has a single bed and open storage for your things and you can freshen up after a day out exploring the area in the shower room with shower and WC. Outside extend your days on holiday by making use of the patio area. A real suntrap in summer and sheltered by a surrounding wall with table and chairs and sun loungers. Sit here and plan your next days activities enjoy some al fresco dining and evening drinks gazing up at the stars. You also have access to the lovely shared walled garden to the side of the cottage which is illuminated at night and benefits from a range of mature plants and herbs.
