Corn Rigg Cottage cottage The Lake District and Cumbria

Corn Rigg Cottage is a superb barn conversion, one of two, on the outskirts of the village of Ousby, close to the village of Melmerby. The cottage sleeps two people in one king-size double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom. There is also a kitchen and a sitting room with a dining area and a woodburning stove. Outside is a lawned garden with a patio and furniture and off road parking. Corn Rigg Cottage is in a fantastic location to be a base for exploring Yorkshire, the Lake District and the west coast.

Ousby is a small village surrounded by countryside in the Eden Valley. It has a pub called the Fox Inn, a campsite and a church called St Luke`s Church. It is excellent for walking and cycling and is only a mile from the village of Melmerby which offers a wide green with a winding stream, a pub, a shop, a bakery and a church and is situated on C2C Cycle Route. The surrounding countryside is abundant with wildlife and is home to the native red squirrel and hares can be spotted easily, and the varied landscape is also a haven for birdwatchers, where curlews, oystercatchers and lapwings can be seen during the summer months.
