The property overlooks the picturesque village of Llanigon (1 mile) and makes a wonderful base for walkers exploring the Wye Valley and the Brecon Beacons National Park. The popular market town of Hay-on-Wye known for its literature festival and wide range of antiquarian and second-hand bookshops is within easy reach just across the fields (2.5 miles) and also features plenty of great pubs and restaurants. The cottage is ideally situated for following the Offas Dyke Path and several National Cycle routes. Other local attractions and landmarks include Llangorse Lake (12 miles) Tretower Castle (17 miles) and Arthurs Stone (8.5 miles). Popular activities in the area include fishing or canoeing in the Wye shooting cycling horse riding and climbing. Two separate staircases lead up to the first floor of this beautiful reverse-level property where you will find the main living areas. The spacious and welcoming open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner is accessed via a couple of steps and is a lovely space to relax in at the end of a great day. With original features including ceiling beams and exposed stonework the lounge is a cosy and inviting space with plenty of comfortable seating and a TV so you can curl up with a good book or watch a favourite movie. The stylishly designed kitchen is equipped with an oven and hob microwave fridge freezer washing machine tumble dryer and dishwasher. The dining area has plenty of space for everyone to enjoy a special family meal together. The first floor has an additional lounge with TV and a traditional wood burner ensuring theres plenty of room for everyone to relax. Returning to the ground floor you can discover the four light attractive and tastefully decorated bedrooms. The first bedroom features a king-size bed with en-suite bathroom complete with bath and WC. Theres also a further king-size bedroom as well as two rooms which can be made up either as twin rooms with 2 6 beds or as king-size rooms on request. The ground floor also has a large family bathroom with shower bath and WC and a further bathroom with shower over the bath and WC. The property is set in extensive grounds with a charming garden terrace perfect for a spot of al fresco dining. With access to a telescope the balcony is perfect for stargazing in the glorious dark skies. Ample parking and bike storage are available. Set on a working farm theres plenty of woodlands for children to explore. Need to know: 4 bedrooms 2 king size, 2 twin rooms with 2 6 beds, which can be made up as king size beds on request. 3 bathrooms 1 bathroom with bath, shower and WC, 1 bathroom with shower over bath and WC, 1 en suite bathroom with bath and WC. Electric hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, large fridge, freezer, Washing machine, tumble dryer. Wood burner logs provided.
