For those who want to explore on foot there is Nidderdale an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty the Yorkshire Dales and a vast amount of countryside. A fairly easy walking route to try out for an afternoon is the Timble and Swinsty Reservoir walk. For some retail therapy or a day at the convention centre head to Harrogate also with Bettys Tea Rooms. A little further afield visit Ripon known for its cathedral and it also close to the UNESCO Heritage Site of Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Park.
