IDYLLIC PROPERTY, WONDERFUL VALLEY LOCATION, BEACH WALKING DISTANCE 0.75 MILES
This unique property, standing in its own 3 acres of garden and woodland, offers something for all the family. Bordering a stream that has yielded brown trout and glimpses of otters at play, kingfishers and the darting and diving of dippers.
With direct access to breathtaking cliffs and waterfall at Spekes Mill Mouth overlooking a secluded sand and rocky beach enjoyed by reef surfers and amateur prawn, crab and lobster fishermen. Hartland is 3 miles away offering a choice of pubs, shops and a Post Office. Places of interest nearby include Clovelly with its cobbled streets and Sandymouth, over the border in Cornwall, with 2 miles of sandy beach and rolling Atlantic waves. Hartland Quay with its museum and history of wreckers and shipwrecks, remains of which can still be found around the rocky beaches of Hartland Point. Other attractions such as The Big Sheep and The Milky Way offer excellent family entertainment and adjacent to the property is Docton MiIl, famous for its cream teas and award winning garden. Leisure facilities: the property's own grounds offer diversity with paths, bridges, lawns, woodland and a large log seating area around a camp fire (weather permitting). The grounds lead down to an unfenced stream (children beware) where wild brown trout can be caught. There is also a mill pond, 200 yards from the house, which fills in rainy weather and is also unfenced. Games room: in a transformed garage with table football and darts and a small room, for the young to escape from the adults, with a fridge, hi-fi and sofa.
The accommodation offers FIVE bedrooms: 1 downstairs double with en-suite shower room with WC, 1 king-size upstairs, with open-tread stairs leading to 1 twin with 2'6" beds and low sloping ceiling. 1 twin and 1 bunk bedroom with flatscreen TV for sole use of DVDs and videos.
Bathroom: large with shower attachment over bath, separate shower, WC and heated towel rail.
Lounge: a large galleried room up a few steps (stairgate at top) with woodburner, 48" flatscreen TV / DVD, full SkyHD+ package, MP3 compatible hi-fi, seating and raised area ideal for relaxing with lots of cushions. Second cosy lounge area ideal for quiet reading with woodburner and large selection of books. Dining room: with open fire (logs provided) and dining table seating up to 10. Kitchen: well-appointed and equipped with gas Aga (for cooking and hot water, however during the summer months the Aga will be switched off and hot water will be available via the immersion heater), electric cooker with halogen hob, microwave, American style fridge / freezer and many useful extras. Utility room: with washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher. A good spot for storing walking boots and wellies.
Outside: extensive grounds for all to enjoy.
Amenities: parking for 4 cars. Bed linen, electric and fuel included. Electric central heating. Wi-fi available. Towels available for hire. 2 well behaved, medium sized dogs welcome. Regret no smoking. Telephone (with honesty box for calls made).
Additional info: natural spring water from borehole filtered through the most up to date equipment, giving the purest water. Caution must be taken with children due to unfenced stream and mill pond.
Location: beach at Spekes Mill 10 minutes walk, pubs and small shops 3 miles. Arrival: 4pm.
