Originally built for the family who worked the local copper mine this pretty property is found down a private lane among fields with only birds and sheep to disturb you. However despite its remote location the village of Felinfach is only 1 mile down the lane with a local pub and celebrated gastro-pub. Walks lead from the door into the surrounding countryside but for something a little more challenging Brecon is just 5 miles away providing you with a gateway to miles of great walks and cycling through the Brecon Beacons. Alternatively a gentler experience can be found in the literary town of Hay-on-Wye 12 miles east where you can explore the quaint streets of this historic town of books . Stepping into this period property is like stepping back in time with many of the original features still on show. Heavy wood beams and exposed stonework give a real sense of the buildings history augmented by a large inglenook fireplace housing an open wood burner in the sitting room and an old-fashioned range and bread oven that is still used as a fireplace in the kitchen. On cooler days the warmth from these fires creates a truly cosy atmosphere inviting you to curl up on the sofas in front of your favourite movie or TV show. At the end of the day a steep flight of wooden stairs takes you up to the propertys two bedrooms. The first is a small double and the second is a family bedroom with a double and two single beds. The bathroom is also found on the first floor and offers both a bath and a shower. While sitting in front of the fire is a joy on chilly days when the suns shining you will want to head outside and enjoy the large walled grassy garden. The garden furniture and BBQ allow you to dine outside enjoying the very last of the suns rays before tuning in for the night. Parking for two cards available in front of the gate. Need to know: 2 bedrooms 1 double, 1 family room (double and 2 singles). 1 bathroom with bath and shower. Cot and Highchair available. Electric storage heaters with evening boost facility. Electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge. Washing machine in airing cupboard. Tumble dryer and freezer in shed. Wood burner wood included. TV, DVD. No Wi Fi. Enclosed garden with BBQ and furniture. 4 dogs welcome. Dogs to be kept downstairs. Steep wooden stairs to first floor. 1 mile to pubs at Felinfach; 3.5 miles to shops at Bronllys; 5 miles to Brecon; 12 miles to Hay on Wye. Parking for 2 cars available. Please note slight head height restrictions in bedrooms.
