Foxholes cottage Yorkshire Dales
Foxholes is set on a working farm close to the village of Staindrop in Teesdale, just five miles from Barnard Castle. The cottage has two double bedrooms (one with an ensuite) and one twin as well as a family bathroom which makes it suitable for six people. Also in the cottage are a fitted kitchen with a breakfast area and a sitting room with a dining area. Outside the cottage is off road parking for two cars, a sheltered shared front courtyard with furniture and a designated play area for children (adult supervision required). Ideal for exploring the northern Dales, Foxholes is sure to appeal to the whole family.
Set in the York Dales, the pretty Teesdale village of Staindrop has always been closely associated with the fortunes of nearby Raby Castle. This impressive building is open to the public and is one of the finest in England. Extended and modified over the centuries, the castle is medieval in origin and boasts a walled garden and 200-acre deer park. The village of Staindrop itself has many interesting shops, pubs and cafes, all set around its long village green. The popular market town of Barnard Castle is only five miles away and, in addition to it`s famous fort, is home to the Bowes Museum and a wide selection of shops and tea-rooms. The area also offers many exceptional walking and cycling routes through the beautiful countryside.
