The fishing industry has prevailed in Robin Hoods Bay and there is a fishmongers in the village where you can buy freshly landed seafood. In the wider area make sure you take a day trip to Whitby. The ruins of the 13th-century St Hildas Abbey on East Cliff dominate views across the River Esk and is a stunning spot for a photograph. Whitby also has excellent literary associations through the works of Lewis Carroll and Bram Stoker namely Dracula.
