Gardeners Cottage cottage Peak District
Gardener`s Cottage is a lovely holiday home, set within two acres of grounds with Alma House, a Victorian gentleman`s residence dating back to the 1875. The cottage has two bedrooms, a room with a king-size bed on the first floor than can be unzipped into twin beds on request, plus a room with a single bed on the ground floor and a bathroom with a freestanding roll-top bath an shower attachment. Downstairs is kept cosy with underfloor heating; there is a kitchen with a dining area and a sitting room with a multi-fuel stove. Outside is off road parking for two cars and a patio with furniture along with shared use of the owner`s hot tub. Gardener`s Cottage has beautiful views of the surrounding countryside, yet is within half a mile of local amenities, making it a wonderful base for a break in the country.
The historic market town of Chesterfield acts as the gateway to the Peak District, and has much to offer visitors. The town is famous for its 14th Century church with "Crooked Spire", twisting curiously from its true centre, while the frequent bustling market days are ideal for exploring the many different specialist shops and stalls which line the old Market Hall and charming Shambles beyond. The town also boasts Queens Park, with its boating lake, walks and summer bandstand, as well as a museum and theatre. An interesting base for a varied break.
