Set in its own enclosed and extensive garden, the property has views of the rolling Pennine fells in one direction and the Lake District National Park in the other. You’re in the perfect place if you enjoy outdoor pursuits like sailing, quad biking or pony trekking, and if you’re a keen walker, there’s everything from rugged mountain hikes to sedate lakeside strolls.



The heart of the property is the large, open plan kitchen and living space, with a wood burning stove and an Aga to keep you cosy and warm. Each of the bedrooms has its own en-suite room and there’s a sandstone patio for a spot of al fresco dining too. The downstairs is completely step-free, so Gill Beck Barn could be ideal for anyone with limited mobility.



The property is set just up the lane from the popular fellside village of Melmerby, with a lovely pub, a village shop and a tea room, as well as independent shops and an indoor pool. If you’d like to venture further afield, the sinuous Ullswater Lake is just 11 miles away, with its historic steamer boats, not to mention the daffodils that inspired the poet William Wordsworth.
