This lovely cottage with its quirky features is situated in the perfect location for those who want to spend their holiday exploring the great outdoors. Grizedale Forest is right on the doorstep and the forests visitor centre is just over a mile away offering cycling routes and walks for all abilities a renowned sculpture trail childrens play area cafe and a Go-Ape climbing centre. A walk up the nearby Carron Crag gives some of the best views over Coniston and the Old Man. In the opposite direction is the delightful Rusland Valley. Both Lake Windermere and Coniston Water are a short drive from the cottage where guests can try a range of waterside activities from pleasurable boat trips to windsurfing lessons. Enjoy a gentle stroll around the picturesque Tam Hows or for the hardier fell walker the majestic and rugged Langdales are also only a short drive away. The village of Satterthwaite with its village pub is one of the Lake Districts secret yet accessible hideaways and a romantic getaway. A short walk takes you to a Childrens play area in the village as well as tennis court (bookable and payable separately). The front door of this property opens directly into the lovely and cosy lounge with its comfortable seating modern inset wood burner TV/DVD and Freesat Free WiFi. This room leads guests to the smart and contemporary well equipped kitchen with its oven hob fridge with ice compartment microwave and washing machine. Leading off from the opposite side of the lounge to the kitchen is the propertys dining room with table and chairs a well-stocked bookcase and French windows which open onto the garden. There is also a stylish tiled shower room with WC and underfloor heating on this floor. Stairs from next to the front door lead to the first-floor accommodation where there are elegantly understated bedrooms. The first of these is a pretty king-size room with an attractive feature fireplace and window which affords views to the village green. The other bedroom is single with similar lovely views of the village. Outside the patio garden to the rear of the property is a lovely sunny place to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings offering a good size dining table and chairs as well as a bench. There is also a shed to allow guests to securely store two adult bikes. There is road parking for one car on the lane beside the garden wall just next to the cottage or next to the church opposite. A gate from here gives access to the property via the patio. Please note there is a right of pedestrian access through the back yard to the adjoining Honeysuckle Cottage although this is rarely used. Need to know: 2 bedrooms: A king size and a single. Shower room with WC. TV/DVD. Wi Fi included. Wood burner with fuel provided. Oven, hob, microwave, fridge with ice compartment, and washing machine. Bed linen and towels included. Electric and heating included. 1 dog welcome (must be kept downstairs). Walking distance to pub. Shops and restaurant 4 miles. Roadside parking for 1 car. Bike storage available in shed.
