This family cottage is less than 500 metres from the centre of the famous book town of Hay-on-Wye where you will find a host of independent bookstores welcoming cafes and restaurants and pubs serving local ales. Stroll the ancient streets and discover the ruined castle in the heart of the town. Less than 200 metres from your cottage is the famous walking trail of Offas Dyke: pack a picnic and spend the day hiking the tranquil countryside. Ramble along the riverbank for a paddle at The Warren or take to the water on a kayak adventure along the River Wye. Hop in the saddle for a bike ride through the surrounding area discovering the 12th-century Llanthony Priory (11.5 miles). For keen walkers the rugged mountain of Pen-y-Fan (25 miles) is a must for magnificent views across the Brecon Beacons. Step through the gate and cross the front terrace to reach the cottages front door. Decorated in neutral shades throughout your holiday home has a warm and welcoming feel retaining many period features.
