Holly Cottage cottage Peak District
Holly Cottage is a lovely, chocolate box cottage in the centre of the beautiful conservation village of Winster, near Bakewell, and can sleep five people. There is a king-size double bedroom, a twin bedroom, a single bedroom and a sitting room with a woodburning stove. Outside there is off road parking for one car, with additional roadside parking for two cars on a first come, first served basis and a terraced garden with lawned area, patio and furniture. Holly Cottage is a lovely base for your family holiday.
With an impressive 17th century market house at its centre, the conservation village of Winster is situated within the Peak District National Park. This extremely pretty location is mostly composed of three main streets - Main Street, East Bank and West Bank boasting imposing 18th Century farm houses, nearly all of which are at least three storeys tall. Off the main street visitors can find the slightly less grand though equally fascinating `ginnels`, or alleyways. The village still holds a number of traditional events throughout the year, such as a pancake race every Shrove Tuesday and the annual Wakes festivities which take place in June, as well as events hosted by the local Morris dancers. The village boasts plenty of essential amenities too - a post office/gift shop, a well stocked grocer`s shop and two pubs both serving food and local traditional beers.
