The Victorian town of Ilfracombe offers many attractions including the theatre, cinema, museum and aquarium as well as breathtaking walks, swimming, golf and numerous beaches to discover. From the harbourside, you can take a trip on a fishing boat up the coast or a 2 hour ferry journey will take you to Lundy. Many different pubs and restaurants are dotted around the town from local inns to Damien Hirst’s harbourside restaurant. An ideal base, Ilfracombe is within easy reach of some of Devon’s best sandy beaches; great for sunbathing with many offering surfboard hire should you wish to take to the water. Local villages worth a visit include Combe Martin ideal for rock pooling, the twin villages of Lynton and Lynmouth and the fishing villages of Appledore and Clovelly. Attractions within the area include Combe Martin Wildlife Park, Exmoor Zoo and the National Trust property of Arlington Court.
