Set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this detached stone barn conversion is found at the end of a long, private, unmade drive shared with the owner’s neighbouring property; it has its own access and sits within a peaceful countryside location. An ideal base for touring the Jurassic Coast which is a short drive away, as are popular beaches at Lyme Regis, Charmouth and Beer. The unspoilt Axe estuary is also nearby with its bird and nature reserve.
There are many attractions to suit all tastes within half an hour's drive including Abbotsbury, Crealy, Bicton Park, the cathedral city of Exeter and numerous National Trust properties and coastline. It is also an idyllic spot from which to walk and cycle, or sit and relax on the decked area and enjoy the spectacular views of the Axe Valley as trains weave their way periodically through the landscape two fields away. The charming village of Kilmington is a 15 minute walk and boasts two local pubs serving food, a shop and an outstanding farm shop selling local produce. Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's acclaimed River Cottage restaurant can be found in nearby Axminster as well as a weekly market and good variety of shops. There are THREE bedrooms: 1 zip-and-link double (which can be a twin) with en-suite shower over bath and WC, 1 double and 1 twin. Shower room: wet room style with WC. Lounge / diner: with TV, DVD, woodburner (first basket of logs included, more logs available onsite at £3) and patio doors. Kitchen: well-equipped with cooker, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and microwave.
Outside: private decked area with uninterrupted countryside views, BBQ, seating and garden enclosed via a removable fence.
