Knoll Cottage cottage Peak District
This delightful stone terraced cottage is just a few minutes walk from the centre of Bakewell and has been lovingly restored to provide a fabulous holiday property. The siting room is cosy and inviting and offers a restful place after a busy day. There is a bright, airy kitchen and the advantage of a separate dining room, and the two bedrooms are beautifully furnished and decorated, offering a tranquil haven in which to have a refreshing night`s sleep. The luxurious bathroom has a separate shower and a bath perfect for unwinding. There is a small, pretty courtyard with a gas barbecue and furniture, and with all the amenities and attractions close to Bakewell this cottage is an ideal base for a holiday.
Bakewell is a charming market town and offers a variety of shops restaurants, pubs and of course the famous ‘Bakewell Market` mainly held on a Monday and which dates back to at least 1300. At the centre of the town is a 17th Century market hall and the famous public house the Rutland Arms, built in 1804 and said to be the home of the ‘Bakewell Pudding.` There are some very pleasant walks from the bridge in the centre of Bakewell that go along the river and Bakewell is a perfect place from which to explore the Peak District, with the White and Dark Peaks within easy reach. In nearby Castleton the Blue John caverns are an impressive site to see and the halls of Haddon and Hardwick are both well worth a visit.
