Lilac Lea cottage Dorset and Somerset

Bere Regis is situated in rural Dorset, between Dorchester and Poole and just a short distance to the villages of Moreton and Bovington. The village features the historic St John the Baptist church, which dates back over 1000 years, where tours can be undertaken, led by church members during the months of May-September. Close by are the quaint and picturesque villages of Briantspuddle, Affpuddle and Turnerspuddle. Affpuddle Forest, which is managed by the Forestry Commission, is just south of Affpuddle village, with Higher Hyde Heath (managed by Dorset Wildlife Trust) found south of Bere Regis. For the adventurous, there are numerous outdoor activities within easy reach of Bere Regis including Quad Biking, and Hang-Gliding. There are two village pubs and a village shop plus a farm shop which sells lots of local produce.
