The traditional village of Madley is within 1 miles walk and offers a well-stocked village store and traditional inn a fish and chip shop plus a 9-hole golf course and tennis courts. Here you can enjoy a walk from your doorstep across acres of farmland with lakes and small pockets of forestry. Or take a stroll 3 miles to The Yew Tree pub where you can tuck into a lazy lunch. For a more challenging walk join the Offas Dyke Path on the Hatterrall Ridge or tackle Hay Bluff and The Black Mountains all within 20 miles. The River Wye meanders close by where you can enjoy a gentler terrain or hire a canoe locally from Hereford Kayak Canoe at Preston on Wye 4 miles away. Canoe hire is also available from Hay-on-Wye and Glasbury a 20-mile drive west. A trip to the vibrant market town of Hay-on-Wye is a must where you can pick up local produce from a farmers market browse the independent shops or relax and enjoy a directors choice movie at Booths Cinema. The cottage enjoys an elevated position within sympathetically landscaped grounds and lovely views across the adjoining fields of Herefordshire countryside. This lovely cottage and barn conversion have been joined with a contemporary extension offering stunning rooms for your enjoyment. The ground floor has been cleverly designed and offers open-plan living that is perfect for families and friends wanting to spend time together. The living room area boasts cosy seating with an individually-designed wood burning stove here you can relax in front of the TV beneath the beams in the vaulted ceiling. For dining a table and chairs gives you space that is perfect for a supper of locally sourced produce. The kitchen is well-equipped with electric oven and gas hob microwave fridge/freezer and dishwasher. A utility room offers space for muddy boots and coats along with a washing machine and tumble dryer. The ground floor has two bedrooms both super-king-size zip-and-links (that can be made into twin beds on request when booking). The rooms are spacious and enjoy garden views one feels modern and the other full of original oak beams. There is a Jack and Jill wet room with separate bath and WC. On the first floor a large bedroom with vaulted ceiling has a super-king-size bed with an en-suite shower and WC. The cottage is surrounded by gardens and there is a private hot tub set to the side where you can enjoy catching up with everyone under the stars. A patio area is set up with table and chairs for dining with a large parasol and a BBQ. There is parking for several cars along with a secure rack for bikes. Dogs are charged at 20 each per full or part week. Need to know: 3 bedrooms 2 super king zip and link (both can be made into twin beds by request when booking) and 1 super king size. 2 bathrooms 1 Jack and Jill wet room with separate bath and WC, and 1 en suite shower and WC. Electric oven and gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, and dishwasher. Utility room washing machine and tumble dryer. Wood burner (logs included). Smart 55 TV in living room with full Sky package.
