Mappowder Cottage cottage Dorset and Somerset

Mappowder Cottage is a splendidly presented, modern cottage resting near the Dorset town of Sturminster Newton. It hosts two bedrooms; a double and a twin, sleeping four guests, accompanied by a family bathroom. There is also a sitting room with a dining area and open fire along with a kitchen. Mappowder Cottage is a delight to any guest, resting in the heart of a beautiful region of England.

The market town of Sturminster Newton is set on the banks of the River Stour, reached via a graceful, six-arch, 15th century bridge, carrying a warning of deportation to those who may damage it! The whole area acted as inspiration for the works of Thomas Hardy. The region is dotted with thatched cottages, rural walks, country views, and fascinating towns, such as Sherborne, with its abbey and castle, whilst the Dorset Heritage Coast is also within easy reach.
