Marles Farmhouse cottage Dorset and Somerset
Marles Farmhouse is a beautifully converted, pet friendly, farmhouse in the quiet village of Salwayash in Dorset. Scenic and secluded yet with easy access to the town and coast, this fabulous family farmhouse sleeps up to twelve people in six bedrooms - on the first floor are two king-size doubles with en suite bathrooms, two twins, one adult bunk room and two shower rooms. On the ground floor is a further twin room and shower room making this property suitable for those who are less mobile. The sitting room with a wood burning stove is spacious, whilst the huge kitchen with dining area is the real of the home. A family games room with table football and piano will keep the family busy on those not so sunny days. The outside space is no less impressive, peaceful and surrounded by fields, with a large sun terrace, table chairs and BBQ to the front and an enclosed lawned area with climbing frame and swings to the rear.
The attractive market town of Bridport grew up around the River Brit, and was shaped by its extensive history of rope and net making. The long, wide streets and alleyways between the houses were once where the flax strands were twisted into rope, while today those streets are filled with an interesting variety of shops, restaurants and inns.
