COSY COTTAGE IN PEACEFUL VILLAGE LOCATION
This delightful quaint cottage, formerly the village shop and post office is positioned in the centre of the picturesque Polden Hills in the village of Moorlinch.
The village itself has a 12th century church and craft centre which offers pottery and glass blowing as well as a family pub serving good food. You will be well placed to explore the area including Glastonbury with its Tor, Abbey, Rural Life Museum and the Chalice Well, Clarks retail village in Street, Cheddar Gorge and Wells, the smallest city in England with its wonderful cathedral. The Quantock hills are less than an hour's drive away and a bit further afield is the Exmoor National Park. Also within an hour's drive is the Roman City of Bath with convenient park and ride. There are several sandy and dramatic coastal beaches, to the north is Burnham-on-Sea and Weston-Super-Mare, and on the south coast Lyme Regis, Sidmouth and Torquay. On the Bridgwater / Street / Glastonbury bus route and the perfect place from which to cycle, walk on Sedgemoor and for fishing or bird watching from nature reserve hides.
The accommodation offers ONE bedroom: twin. Shower room: with WC. Lounge / diner: offers chairs, flatscreen TV and woodburner (first basket of logs free) for those cooler out of season breaks (coal and logs by arrangement with the owner). Kitchen: well-equipped with electric cooker, fridge, microwave and washing machine.
Outside: patio area with seating. Use of owner's large, very pretty gardens with outside seating and BBQ. Large lock up sheds for storing bicycles and boots etc.
Amenities: parking is next to the cottage on a quiet village lane. Bed linen and towels included. Electric to be paid direct to owner, £10 per week (April-September) and £20 per week (October-March) when night storage heaters are switched on. Non-smokers preferred.
Location: less than a 30 minute drive to Glastonbury Festival. Central for visiting the Bridgwater Carnival in November. Beach 30 minutes, shop 2 miles, pub walking distance.
