The thriving village of Motcombe lies on the edge of North Dorset`s Blackmore Vale, just 2 miles from the ancient hilltop town of Shaftesbury. Motcombe boasts its own friendly community store and Post Office, with a country pub close by. The local town of Shaftesbury, well served by a good range of shops and inns, is perched on a spur of rolling green hills with spectacular views reaching far across the rural landscape. One of the best vantage points is from Gold Hill (the famous ‘Hovis` advert was filmed here) with its quaint, cobbled and very steep street.
