Mousehole Cottage cottage The Lake District and Cumbria
Mousehole Cottage is bursting with character, based near the village of Armathwaite, in Cumbria. The village of Armathwaite is placed for exploring the Lake District, Eden Valley and the Solway Firth. The village has two pubs with restaurants, a Post Office and a shop. The River Eden runs through the village. The area is known for fishing, walking, canoeing and climbing. Armathwaite Castle is a four-storey Pele Tower, and the 15th century church has stained glass windows. The Eden Gorge, between Lazonby and Armathwaite is worth exploring. The railway station is a stop on the Settle-to-Carlisle Railway, a beautiful journey. The Rheged Discovery Centre in Penrith is the "largest grass covered building in the country" or you might like to visit Dalemain Historic House, featured in a television production of Jane Eyre.
