Old Byre Cottage cottage The Lake District and Cumbria
Old Byre Cottage is a semi-detached cottage on a working farm in Newbiggin-on-Lune. The cottage has two ground floor bedrooms; a king-size double which can be a twin on request, and a room with bunks. The bathroom is also on the ground floor, while upstairs is an open plan living area leading to a raised patio. As well as the patio guests have use of the shared grounds including a play area, and there is off road parking. Old Byre Cottage is an ideal base for walking, sightseeing, playing `farmer` or simply relaxing.
Newbiggin-on-Lune is a small village below the Howgill Fells, set between the Lake District National Park and the Yorkshire Dales, making it an ideal base for exploring both. There is trout fishing in the river Lune nearby, good walking up the fells and easy access to attractions such as the Settle to Carlisle Railway.
