Pickle Cottage cottage Peak District
Pickle Cottage is a fantastic, semi-detached cottage, nestled in the heart of the Derbyshire village of Middleton. The cottage offers a double bedroom, a family room with a double bed, twin beds on a mezzanine level, and an en-suite shower room. There is also a fabulous family bathroom and an open plan living area providing a well-equipped kitchen, a dining area, and a sitting area. Outside, there is a patio with furniture and ample off road parking. Pickle Cottage is a wonderful base for friends and families escaping the hustle and bustle of everyday life and exploring the Peak District.
The former quarry and lead mining village of Middleton is set on a prominent hillside above the nearby towns of Wirksworth and Cromford, just eight miles from the popular destination of Matlock. The village layout is composed of a long main street leading into nearby Wirksworth, which is home to a village shop and a good local pub. The surrounding countryside offers wonderful walking and cycling routes throughout the region, with the disused High Peak Railway line close by recently converted into a path known as the High Peak Cycle Trail. The nearby town of Matlock provides a good range of shops and pubs, whilst the many National Trust properties and museums throughout the area are not to be missed.
