1 OF 8 COTTAGES. CHARMING CONVERSIONS PERFECT FOR ENJOYING THE AREA AND CLOSE TO THE SEA
Ideally positioned between the old tin mining village of Illogan and harbourside village of Portreath, the farm is surrounded by open fields. Approached via a long, made farm lane, this exceptionally attractive courtyard of tastefully converted barns and listed farmhouse offers accommodation of great character in a peaceful, yet convenient location.
The properties are ideally situated to take advantage of both coast and countryside. A walkers paradise, with a choice of footpaths from the farm, either through a pleasant wooded valley or across open fields, leading down to Portreath with its sandy beach or to some of the most spectacular cliffside scenery in the country. There are also several new “mining trails” in the immediate vicinity, ideal for both cycling and walking. Situated near to the entrance of the farm is Tehidy Country Park, a tranquil 250 acres site of woodland, lakes, footpaths and cycle trails, as well as the impressive Tehidy Park golf course. St Ives and Falmouth are 25 minutes drive. The Lizard, Padstow and the renowned Eden Project are about 50 minutes, while the county town of Truro with its catherdral and high street shops is 20 minutes away. Indoor swimming, go-karting, bowling and other games are available locally. Illogan and Portreath (1 mile) have a small selection of shops, pubs and restaurants.
All properties are furnished and equipped to a high standard.
Outside: each has their own patio area with seating and use of communal grounds including lawns and large recreational area for football, boule and kite flying.
Amenities: ample parking. Bed linen, towels, electric and central heating included (extra from June to September). Wi-fi available. Communal washing machines and tumble dryer in utility room. Regret no pets.
Location: the beach, shops, pubs and restaurants at Portreath can be accessed via the footpath that is approximately a mile long, or a 5 minutes drive. Arrival: 4.00 pm. You are welcome to drop your luggage off before this if you wish.
This former coach house is named after Richard Trevithick, the inventor of the steam engine who had links with the farm. The large windows give a lovely sunny aspect. The accommodation is single storey and is suitable for the less able, offering ONE double bedroom with en-suite which has a walk-in shower and wider doorways. Lounge / kitchen / diner: well-equipped with cooker, fridge / freezer, microwave, TV and DVD.
Additional info: shower chair and toilet riser available on request.
