Priory View cottage The Lake District and Cumbria
Priory View is an end-terrace cottage in the small village of Conishead near to Ulverston in Cumbria. The cottage sleeps six people and has one double bedroom with an en-suite, two twins and a family bathroom. Also in the cottage area fitted kitchen, a dining room and a sitting room with a woodburning stove. Outside is off road parking and a lawned garden with outdoor furniture. With a golf course nearby and being close to the coast and the Lake District National Park, Priory View is a lovely family holiday home, all year round.
The ancient market town of Ulverston is a settlement steeped in tradition. This charming retreat still holds a street market every Thursday and Saturday. Today it is best known as a festival town and hosts numerous events throughout the year. These include walking and art festivals in the summer months and the renowned Dickensian festival in late November. One of the town`s most famous residents was Stan Laurel and Ulverston is now home to the only Laurel and Hardy museum in the world. Other facilities and points of interest include a wide range of shops, cafes, restaurants, pubs, a cinema and a leisure centre. Ulverston has managed to maintain an authentic feel and community spirit, despite its popularity as a tourist destination. The renowned Lake District National Park is within easy driving distance and the Furness Coast boasts sandy beaches and good birdwatching.
