This detached character cottage is situated in a quiet corner of the village green in Piercebridge. Located just 10 miles from the popular town of Barnard Castle and lovingly renovated to retain much of its original charm, this property boasts exposed beams, a traditional sitting room with feature fireplace and a mature garden, offering somewhere to relax on warm summer evenings. There are three bedrooms in the property with sleeping space for up to five people, making this a wonderful home from home for a family or a group of friends. The cottage is ideally placed for village amenities, and is within easy reach of Barnard Castle and other tourist attractions.
With an attractive village green, Piercebridge provides visitors with a selection of excellent pubs and an organic farm shop. Located on the Teesdale border next to the river Tees, the village is just 10 miles east of the popular town of Barnard Castle. Renowned for its Roman heritage, Piercebridge itself dates back to around 70AD and boasts a Roman fort site - a well known ancient monument which forms part of the region`s Dere Street Roman Trail. As a stop along both the Teesdale and Cleveland Ways, this village provides an excellent base from which walkers and cyclists can explore nearby Swaledale and Weardale. As well as the two main trails the are many bridleways, footpaths, cycle trails and lovely riverside walks to explore. Other local attractions include the magnificent Raby Castle in nearby Staindrop, the Bowes Museum, York`s National Railway Museum, Durham Cathedral and the market town of Barnard Castle. The Lake District and Northumbrian National Park are also within reasonable driving distance.
