This converted detached former farmhouse is situated in a region officially classed as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The South Hams covers the most southerly tip of Devon. From the wild beauty of Dartmoor to the stunning southern coastline, there are miles of beautiful countryside and delightful estuaries and rivers to explore. Enjoy some of the finest beaches in the West Country from sheltered rock pools to long sandy surfing beaches. There are numerous unspoilt villages to explore with little shops, tearooms, galleries and restaurants. An ideal base for exploring the whole area including The English Riviera, popular Dartmouth and the city of Plymouth with its cinemas, ice skating, theatre, Hoe, Barbican and National Marine Aquarium. Closer to home are the villages of Start Point and East Prawle, which is the most southerly point of Devon and home to a popular pub as well as rare birds, butterflies and wildlife. Hallsands, with its intriguing history and unspoilt cove, is a perfect base for walking, shore fishing and exploring the coastline, as well as East Portlemouth from where you can catch a small ferry to Salcombe. The boathouse must be booked in advance direct with the owners of the property, who will charge £30 per day booked. The boathouse enjoys a stunning southwest-facing position overlooking one of the finest beaches on the estuary opposite Salcombe, with the benefit of Wi-Fi available, parking, electric, water and private direct access to the beach and a tidal mooring.
