This timber-clad, semi-detached barn conversion is one of two high specification, delightful holiday homes situated on an organic farm. Boasting spectacular views over the Blackmore Vale and an all-weather sports barn, Tallet Barn West sits in an idyllic rural location, yet within walking distance of the village pub and shop.
The views are simply breath-taking from this delightful setting atop a deserted medieval village, now a Scheduled Monument, and reach for many miles across the Blackmore Vale. Inside Tallet Barn West is just as impressive, with stylish and contemporary accommodation including a light and airy double height open-plan living area with sliding glazed doors to make the very most of those breath-taking views. Upstairs on the first floor, the king-size bedroom enjoys a balcony window, where you can take in the vista and fresh air for the perfect start to any day, or stargaze before bedtime. The pretty twin bedroom also enjoys extensive rural views. The main family shower room is located downstairs, however there is a useful cloakroom on the first floor.
Located at the end of a farm track to Darknoll Farm, the property is within walking distance of Okeford Fitzpaine village centre with its village shop, church and pub. Just three miles away is the popular market town of Sturminster Newton with its shops, cafes, mill and museum, and there are numerous quaint Dorset villages within easy reach. From the front door of the property there are opportunities for enjoyable walks across the surrounding fields and footpaths, and with the Wessex Ridgeway on your doorstep, you are spoilt for choice. Hambledon Hill Iron Age Hill Fort and its neighbour Hod Hill are definitely worth a visit and afford outstanding views across three counties.
Guests are invited to play tennis, badminton, volleyball or football on-site by booking some time at the neighbouring private all-weather sports barn. For those wishing to explore further afield, the Jurassic Coast is within easy reach, with the iconic Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove being particular favourites.
For larger groups, Tallet Barn West can be booked together with Tallet Barn East, accommodating eight guests, please see The Tallet Barn for details.
