The Granary cottage Heart of England
The Granary is a cosy, character cottage located in the village of Walford near to Ross-on-Wye in Herefordshire. The cottage can sleep two people in one double bedroom with a family shower room. The rest of the cottage is made up of a fitted kitchen with breakfast bar and a sitting area with a dining area. To the outside of the cottage is ample off road parking and a patio area with garden furniture to the front, and a lawned area to the side and rear. Located in the beautiful countryside, The Granary is a lovely cottage which can be enjoyed at any time of the year.
The scattered village of Walford lies in the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, just two miles from the riverside town of Ross-on-Wye, on the northern edge of the Royal Forest of Dean. Ideally located to enjoy excellent walks and cycle routes with the Wye Valley Walk and Offa`s Dyke Path both passing close by, as well as a traditional village pub. One mile away is Kerne Bridge village with its Grade II listed bridge, canoe launch site, fishing, a riverside picnic area, along with a shop and pub. Goodrich Castle is situated within the nearby village of Goodrich. Nestling amidst the village`s houses are the village hall, shop and two friendly pubs serving food. The Royal Forest of Dean comprises some 27,000 acres of woodland and provides, through a network of pathways and visitor centres, a chance to explore its beauty, history and many outdoor activities. The historic market town of Ross-on-Wye has timbered Tudor buildings, a 17th century market hall and majestic bridges, together with shops, pubs and restaurants to suit all tastes. Stroll along the banks of the River Wye, take a river cruise or view the countryside from a hot-air balloon! Visitors to this area can also enjoy day trips to Hay-on-Wye, the Black Mountains and the Brecon Beacons National Park. Also recommended is a visit to nearby Hereford with its historic cathedral, museums and a variety of shops and restaurants.
