The Rowans cottage The Lake District and Cumbria
The Rowans is an outstanding first floor wing of a stone-built Victorian house, located in the centre of Grange-over-Sands and sleeping six people. The cottage has theree bedrooms, two super king-size double and one twin, a bathroom, a kitchen with dining area and a sitting room with living flame electric fire. Outside there is off road parking for one car and ample roadside parking. The Rowans is a fantastic base, in a wonderful, central location and is ideal for a family holiday.
Set between the Lake District fells and Morecambe Bay is the charming Edwardian resort of Grange-over-Sands, benefiting from one of the mildest climates in the north of England. Formerly a small fishing village, the fashionable Edwardian resort developed following the introduction of the Furness Railway. Today, the town continues as a popular holiday destination and has much to offer the modern visitor, including a traffic-free promenade, stunning ornamental gardens, numerous golf courses, brass band concerts and excellent birdwatching. Lake Windermere is just a short drive away, as are the villages of Bowness-on-Windermere and Hawkshead, which still retain their charm and character. With stunning scenery and lots to see and do in the local area, this region is a great place for a holiday with friends or family.
