The Stables cottage Peak District
The Stables is a lovely stable conversion situated in the town of Buxton. The cottage can sleep ten people in two king-size double, one of which has an en-suite one double with en-suite and two twin rooms, one a zip/link to be a double on request, together with a bathroom. Also in the cottage is a kitchen with dining area, a sitting room with gas fire and a garden room with gas fire. Outside is off road parking for five cars and a private garden with furniture and stream. The Stables is an ideal base from which to explore this lovely part of the country.
It was the constant 28 degrees centigrade of the bubbling blue waters of Buxton`s eight thermal springs that originally attracted the Romans to the town. However it was during the 18th and 19th centuries, under the patronage of successive Dukes of Devonshire, that the Palladian splendour of the Buxton of today was designed and built - including the magnificent semi-circular Crescent, The Great Stable, Hall Bank, The Square, The Pavilion Gardens and The Opera House.
