This idyllic retreat with quirky historic features is set in quiet peaceful countryside yet just a mile from the A40 and 2.5 miles from the old railway town of Sennybridge. Its perfectly placed for a group of friends or sporty families with older children who want to enjoy the best outdoor adventures in Wales. The riverside market town of Brecon (11 miles) is also worth visiting for its array of attractions in all weathers including a leisure centre a 1930 s-style cinema a theatre farmers market and a plethora of shops and eateries. Watersports can be found at Llangorse Lake (15 miles) while Talybont (16 miles) attracts walkers cyclists and visitors to its popular pub restaurant. Step inside this welcoming farmhouse where stylish interiors include an open plan living and dining room with original features from handsome timber beam vaults to an inglenook fireplace housing a contemporary wood burner. Sink into the squishy leather sofas after a long hike and enjoy film nights on the TV with Freeview and DVD player. Enjoy family feasts and boardgames at the large sturdy dining table. There are two stone steps into the well-equipped kitchen which features an electric oven and induction hob a large fridge/freezer a microwave washing machine and dishwasher plus an open hatch on to the dining room great for serving or chatting about recipes from the living area. Steep but carpeted cottage style stairs with a handrail lead up to a large landing with storage space a shower room plus two bedrooms with beautiful furnishings and crisp linens a twin bedroom and a cosy double bedroom. Stable doors lead out from the kitchen and dining areas to a small enclosed courtyard garden with garden furniture and a grassy area beside a stream great if your hounds have joined you on holiday. The garden extends across a farm track to a stream with woodland and seating areas and views across the valley to woods and hills beyond. The owners live in separate accommodation at the back of the cottage and are there to help if needed. A fun BBQ hut is also available by arrangement for guests. Need to know: 2 bedrooms 1 twin bedroom, 1 double. 1 shower room. Electric oven and induction hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher. Washing machine in the kitchen; tumbler dryer in the bike storage area. Wood burner (bag of coal provided on arrival plus access to wood store). TV with Freeview and DVD player; Bluetooth speaker. Wi Fi included. Small enclosed courtyard garden with small lawn area and garden furniture. Additional garden area with seating, stream and wooded area. Ample parking available. 1 dog welcome. Bike, motorbike, and sports equipment storage available. BBQ lodge available by arrangement with the owners (some of the seating can be converted to sleeping spaces if older children would like to camp outside). Shops and pubs 2.5 miles. Regret no children under the age of 5 the courtyard garden has a gravel surface area and the property interior has very steep cottage style stairs with a handrail.
