Wigwell Barn cottage Peak District
Wigwell Barn is a ground floor barn conversion on a working farm near to Wirksworth in Derbyshire. All on the ground floor, you will find stunning uninterrupted views of the Peak District countryside with a cosy sitting room with electric fire and a king-size bedroom. You will also find a fitted kitchen with a dining area, perfect for a hearty breakfast before a busy day. Outside is off road parking and a lawned garden with outdoor furniture. Set in beautiful Derbyshire countryside, Wigwell Barn is a fabulous romantic getaway.
Situatedjust a few miles from Matlock on the edge of the White Peak is Wirksworth, a small market town. Full of character with many buildings of architectural interest including its magnificent parish church, Wirksworth offers a quieter alternative to the popular town of Matlock. Visitors can enjoy exploring the ancient `jitties` and courtyards, as well as the National Stone Centre, the delightful surrounding countryside and the nearby Carsington Water and High Peak Trail. Rock climbing and cycling facilities in the region cater to every level of skill, and there is good walking all around. The country homes of Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are within easy reach, as is Matlock Bath with its spectacular cable car, the newly restored Ecclesbourne Valley Railway and Gulliver`s Kingdom. Only two miles away, the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site in Cromford provides a fascinating day out.
