A short drive takes you to the golden sandy beach at Woolacombe which is ideal for families to paddle their feet build sandcastles or try their hand at surfing. For more practiced surfers the nearby beaches of Croyde and Saunton are definitely worth a visit. If golf is your hobby of choice you will be spoilt with two championship courses at Saunton and the Royal North Devon Golf Club at Westward Ho!. The seaside town of Ilfracombe can be reached on foot via the Tarka Trail or via car with its eclectic mix of traditional amenities together with newer additions such as Damien Hursts Verity quayside restaurants Landmark Theatre and Tunnels Beaches.
