Croagh Patrick, the holy mountain of Ireland known for Saint Patrick's pilgrimage, is steeped in religious and historical significance. Climb the Croagh Patrick for visiting the chapel or for the breath-taking view of Clew Bay. Also devote a couple of days to see the Achill Island. There are some spectacular beaches here like Keem, Dooega and Keel. Sun yourself at the Keem (which is said to have been blessed by St. Patrick) or ride the waves at the Keel. The deserted village of Slievemore, which has proof of habitation from nearly 5000 years ago, promises to be an exciting stop. Stay in log cabins on the Connemara Mountains, or book bungalows near Clew Bay for exciting luxury alternatives.
