Co. North Tipperary holiday cottages
Ireland is a cycling-mad country and you will understand exactly why once you begin riding through the countryside of North Tipperary. Book a lastminute break in the town of Nenagh and you will be based at a designated cycling hub, which is the start and finish point of three popular rides. The shortest of them is a 18.5 mile loop that takes in some of the finest views of Lough Derg, while the longest is a 40 mile route that goes all the way north to Terryglass and then back to Nenagh along the lake's shoreline. You don't have to follow set trails though, as the rural roads are quiet and you could just pedal out to attractions such as Nenagh Castle and the ruins of a Franciscan friary.
