Finwood Cottage 2 cottage Heart of England
Finwood Cottage 2 is a ground floor cottage, set within the grounds of the owner`s home, on the outskirts of the village of Rowington just five miles from Royal Leamington Spa. The cottage sleeps four people and has one king-size bedroom and one twin with family bathroom. Also in the cottage are a fitted kitchen, dining area and sitting area. Outside is a sharaed lawned garden with furniture. Situated in the unspoilt Warwickshire countryside, Finwood Cottage 2 is a lovely family cottage at any time of the year.
The ancient village of Rowington lies in unspoilt Warwickshire countryside and offers many lovely walks including the Heart of England Way. The Grand Union Canal is close by as is the village country pub and restaurant which serves home-cooked food and real ales. The village boasts Rowington Manor, once owned by Catherine Parr and Shakespeare Hall, where it is said Shakepeare`s family lived when he wrote `As you like it`. There are two National Trust properties close to Rowington, Baddesley Clinton and Packwood House, with Wroxall Abbey, another fine house and the country seat of Sir Christopher Wren also near by. Close by, Lapworth Village is strongly associated with the Gunpowder Plot of 1605, as the leader of the plotters, Robert Catesby, was born and lived here, and his tomb is in Lapworth Church. Henley-in-Arden boasts one of the most unspoilt high streets in the country, which contains over 150 buildings listed as being of Special or Historic interest. The town has its own Heritage Centre, itself dating back to the 12th century, with many restaurants, traditional pubs and individual shops, as well as a selection of sports facilities including golf courses, tennis courts and fishing.
