Hornby Castle is in the distance but alongside this runs the River Wenning and its weir. The castle was developed from a previous medieval castle originally built in the 13th century and then restored in 1850. Hornby Castle is rated as a Grade 1 listed building by English Heritage
The Forest of Bowland is a popular location for visitors who enjoy exploring the great outdoors.
