Island View Cottage cottage Northumbria
Island View Cottage is a detached, stone-built cottage in the hamlet of High Hauxley, near amble in Northumberland. The cottage has three bedrooms; a double, twin and single, together sleeping five guests. There is also a family bathroom with shower over bath, a cloakroom, a kitchen and a living/dining room with an electric fire. Outside there is off-road parking for one car, a garage with bike storage, a front lawn with furniture and an enclosed back garden with a lawn. Island View Cottage is a lovely family-friendly property for a Northumberland holiday.
The hamlet of High Hauxley can be found at the northern end of Druridge Bay, a four-mile stretch of white sand, sweeping sand dunes and rock pools to explore at low tide. Less than two miles away is the small town and fishing port of Amble, which sits at the mouth of the River Coquet and offers a yachting marina, a harbour and fishing pier, as well as sandy beaches and stunning coastal walks. Just a mile south of Amble is Coquet Island, where you can enjoy a boat trip around the island with its RSPB reserve, home to a large population of terns, puffins, eider ducks and seals. The coastal villages of Alnmouth and Craster are only a short drive away, whilst picturesque Warkworth and Alnwick are within easy reach.
