You can tour the ten whisky distilleries of Islay and Jura and find the secluded cottage where George Orwell wrote 1984. Outside is also simply breathtaking. Fling open the French doors to the small private terraced garden and follow the steps down to the communal garden shielded by a castellated sea wall.
